New to A.A.?

You’re welcome here — and you don’t have to decide anything today.

If drinking has become a problem for you, or you’re just wondering, this is a good place to start. There’s nothing to sign, no one to convince, and no wrong way to do this.

You can just listen. At many meetings you’re welcome to sit quietly. You can say “I’m just here to listen” — or say nothing at all.

You don’t have to label yourself. Only you can decide whether you have a problem with alcohol, and whether A.A. is for you. No one decides that for you.

It’s free, and it’s private. A.A. has no dues or fees. There’s no sign-in sheet and no last names — anonymity is the whole idea.

You don’t have to have “hit bottom.” If drinking is causing you trouble, that’s reason enough to come. You don’t have to wait for things to get worse.

Meetings that may feel more like home

A.A. is one fellowship, and every meeting welcomes anyone with a desire to stop drinking. Some meetings also gather around a shared experience — and for some people, one of those is an easier room to walk into the first time.

Every A.A. meeting welcomes newcomers — these are simply easier places to start.
